Our Story

Message Welfare Trust (MWT) is a non-profit, non-political and non-government organization, with the motto to “provide help where it is needed”.

Founded in Lahore, Pakistan, a former university student turned teacher began Message Welfare Trust a program to prevent dropouts and improve academic performance among students who were at risk of failing or quitting school.

Combining his university education and his desire to teach at-risk students, Mudassir Zia discovered that when young people from low-income communities are given the opportunity to learn about entrepreneurship, their innate “street smarts” can easily develop into “academic smarts” and “business smarts.” Through entrepreneurship, young people discover that what they are learning in the classroom is relevant to the real world.

To date, Message has worked with nearly 1000 young people from low-income communities in programs across Lahore.

Mission

Our mission is to provide opportunities that inspire young children to stay in school, to recognize business opportunities and to plan for successful futures. Our focus extends into eradicating poverty and initiatives that help us save the environment.

Education for all

The Ghulam Muhammad-Arshad Nasir Grammar School (GMANGS) is a momentous initiative by the Message Welfare Trust (MWT) under its project, “Education for all”, to cater children, majority of whom come from low socio-economic background, with quality education and personality grooming. Born on the 5th of May 2008, the English medium school enrolled its first twenty five students in the first days of its operation. We, at GMANGS, believe that only wholesome education can bring about a revolution in the society, with which its members can contribute more towards the society’s growth and uplift. (more…)

Pakistan our home

Pakistan our home

Under the project of Pakistan Our Home, MWT initiated an event in March, 2010 known as Street Art Competition (SAC). SAC can be regarded as one of the biggest events and the first of its kind in the history of Pakistan. It all started off as an idea to do something against the anomalous practice of wall chalking. Starting in 2010 as a competition, Street Art Pakistan engaged students from various institutes to paint the culture, traditions and positive facets of Pakistan on the walls of Lahore. Till now Street Art Pakistan has successfully organized five seasons of the Street Art Competition (SAC) covering 14 cities of Pakistan.

But millions more still can’t get safe blood when they need it. By establishing Message Blood Donor Society”MBDS” Message Welfare Trust MWT is taking step to raise awareness of the need for safe blood around the Pakistan and encourage eligible individuals to donate it regularly for its ready availability for all those, who need it when required.
